A unique gift for yourself or a loved one, this enamelled pendant is made from solid fine silver (99.9% pure) and enamel (glass).

Enamelling is an ancient art whereby glass is fused onto metal at a high temperature in a kiln. In this case I have added fine silver balls in place among the glass. The piece must be fired at least eight times in many layers at over 800 degrees C for the grains to flow and fuse together. Afterwards, each piece is ground and polished by hand into a smooth, shiny finish.

As you can imagine, this technique is time consuming, but the finished pendant has a jewel-like quality and the colours will never fade. This pendant has a layer of silver foil under the glass which gives it extra sparkle.

Comes complete with a 40cm / 16 inch sleek, modern snake chain.
