Christmas Markets 2025

Although it's not officially winter until the start of December, the temperature has dropped and I'm writing this from a very cold workshop. My poor little fan heater is working overtime!
Christmas is coming soon, which means that us artists must crawl out from under our collective rocks and meet the public face to face, which can be a scary thing for people who work alone most of the time.
We visited 'Crafts in the Pen' at Skipton recently and met some lovely stallholders there. One really stood out - a lady called Anousheh (follow her @anousheh_design on Instagram) who makes the most extraordinary enamel pieces. She was lovely and we shared information about enamelling. I think that's what strikes me about the art world - 99% of the time people are very giving and generous with their knowledge. I think it's hard to be miserable and be an artist (though I'm sure it's possible for some!).
Upcoming Christmas Markets
We ourselves will be exhibiting locally at the following events:
Wath Brow Christmas Fayre, Wath Brow Hornets, Cleator Moor
Sunday 30th November - 10am-3pm
We will be exhibiting our pottery.
Halecat Arts & Crafts Artisan Christmas Fayre, Halecat House, Witherslack
Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th December 2025 - 10.30-5pm each day
We will be exhibiting our jewellery.
Rosehill Festive Market, Rosehill Theatre, Whitehaven
Sunday 13th December 2025 - 11am - 7pm
We will be exhibiting our pottery and jewellery.
We haven't done any of these fairs before and I'm particularly excited about the one at Halecat because apparently they have cocktails! Though I think I'll prefer a hot chocolate on the day because our stall is outside (between the food and fire brazier so that's no problem!).
I'll be working on jewellery all the way up to the events so there will definitely be some exclusives there. Follow my progress @archer.terry.jewellery
Of course there's still plenty of time to order for Christmas delivery at www.archerterrystudios.com if you want something unique and stylish for yourself or a loved one.
I'll be back before Christmas to let you know how the markets went and also to update you on how much we have raised through donations from sales for the year for animal charities. For now, try and keep warm as best you can!
